The sizing is about right. I notice a few people mentioning that the Pearl Izumi tights tend to run small, but remember that these are compression shorts. I'm 6'3", 160 lb, with a waist of about 32-33 inches. That puts me in Medium, but a Large will fit. However, with time the Large tends to be a tad loose while the Medium expands to a comfortable fit. This isn't any different with the Pro In-R-Cool shorts, as they are very tight out of the package to the point I am wondering how my thighs are going to fit. They fit very tightly, giving the compression material a chance to expand to fit my legs. I firmly believe that if I went with Large, they would be too loose after they are more broken in.I had been wearing the Quest shorts, which use the Select padding (least expensive option). The Pro padding differs from the Select padding in a number of ways. The Pro padding extends forward a lot more, to the point it actually curves up almost like a cup. The bulk of the padding is at the sitting bones area, and the Pro padding is noticeably firmer than the Select material. It actually absorbs quite a bit of the shock/vibration from riding on poorly paved roads, but they are not overly thick to make them bulky. The In-R-Cool material is noticeably thinner than the Select shorts, and the Pro shorts have an elastic waist band that is fully exposed while the Select shorts had the elastic sewn inside the spandex material. The silicone grip material is thinner and more subtle with the Pro shorts, while they were basically dots on the Select shorts. In terms of performance, the Pro shorts are much better than the Select shorts. However, given the price delta of 2-3 times, I'd say that for most average riders the Select shorts will suffice. However, there is a difference with the Pro shorts namely due to the better chamois padding.Overall: 5/5 stars, fit is as expected, I normally wear Medium Pearl Izumi pants/shorts and these aren't any different. They will be a tight fit because they are a compression material. The chamois is actually green and I verified this is the Spring/Summer 2014 version, so the orange 4D Chamois shown in the photos isn't quite accurate. These Pro style shorts are designed for pro cyclists. I must concur with other reviews about the sizing. If you are upgrading from Pearl Izumi's Select or Elite style, these shorts fit very differently.1. The inseam is shorter, not a big deal, but FYI.2. The leg circumference is narrower, meaning they are designed for skinnier legs.3. Unless you have flat stomach; or put another way, if you have any semblance of spare tire, the waist band will roll under (which can be annoying on longer rides). My Pearl Izumi Elites, which were large size, fit great. After my accident (tore them up), I bought the Pro's as the replacement, and bought the large size. They are tight and it doesn't feel like they will "break in." Don't get me wrong, they are still ridable and I imagine it will take some getting used to. But, all things being equal, I probably should have opted for x-large or go try them on first. Also, I am in weight loss mode, so I am confident I will shrink into them.On the plus side, the seamless chamois is great, the fabric definitely feels durable. They are cycling shorts. However, do yourself a favor, try them on at a store, figure out your size before you buy.I've used PI Elite shorts for years and have loved them. This is my first time using the Pro, and like many of the other reviewers, I am disappointed at how very tight these are. (I am 5'9", 152 lbs, 33" waist and bought a medium, which I also use in other PI shorts). I am fine with compression shorts on my legs, but not in the groin area. I should have returned these after trying them on, but went for a short 20 mile ride instead so now I own them. I could not wait to get home and take them off. My only hope now is that they will stretch out some after multiple rides and washes. On the positive side, I think I will like the Chamois, even though it is thinner than on the Elites, and the compression fit on the legs feels good.Update, after 4 rides and washes: Definitely a bit better now, but still too tight in the groin. If you wear them like a pair of Speedos, it helps. I am now having second thoughts on the chamois. I did a 50 mile ride today, in 70 degree, low-humidity weather, and after 40 miles got very uncomfortable. The thinner chamois is less absorbent than the one in the Elite shorts, so I felt like I was swimming around in these from all of the sweat. I think these shorts must be aimed at young racers going short distances, not old men like me going out for long weekend rides. This new 2014 version is very comfy! Definitely runs a bit smaller compared to my P.I. Elite pair. These are now my go-to pair and I love how the new 2014 Pro chamois is thick where it needs to be, yet tapers down to a thinner pad in the front and sides so as to not feel as bulky as my old Specialized (can't think of model at the moment but were about $100 retail) or my P.I. Elites. I am right between a medium & large in the sizing chart and am VERY glad I ordered the size large in this model. I cannot imagine trying to fit my legs in the medium version of this model as they seem to have more compression in the legs. I called P.I. to confirm this style # was the new 2014 version as well as how Amazon is an authorized P.I. dealer so full warranties apply. In conclusion, I definitely recommend these to anyone who wants a thin, comfortable, well-made short with a chamois that resulted in absolutely zero soreness on this morning's ride compared to the slight soreness I experience wearing the Elites or my pair of Specialized using the same bike/saddle on the same exact ride.Per P.I. customer service: always check the style number to make sure you know which version/year of their product you are looking at as there may be slight variations although the same model/name between the years.Me gusta su calidad , lo uso para entrenar en las carretera que vas a Cabo San Lucas bcs, tengo usando esa marca desde hace 28 años
