I flagged these as "Fit as expected" because they do fit... however the design of these pants do ride a little low in the waistline from your standard pair of pants. Since golf pants are expensive as hell, especially for larger men, I bought these to go out to the course with. Additionally, I don't care about the old men complaining about cargo shorts on the course. I may update this review after some use but the material seems like it will hold up.UPDATE: As state previously, they do ride low. However, unlike my jeans that "ride" where everyone with no butt thinks they should, these pants stay in place for me. After 3 buckets of golf balls at the range and chasing the kids around in the back yard, I didn't have to pull these up past their normal "ride" height once. If you absolutely can't stand pants that ride slightly below your upper back fat like I have, these will drive you mad.Anyway, I like mine and I like the material... As with all clothing it comes down to personal preference. Don't remove the tags and send them back if you don't like them. I, for one, am keeping mine.Nice shorts. But they do fit about 2 sizes smaller. I had to return the ones I got for my husband. I got him a 40 waist and they fit like a 36 waist.These are great shorts - I bought three pair, the yellow/orange, the blue, and the chocolate/dark brown. I love the colors. The material is lightweight enough to be worn in Texas summers, but not so lightweight that they feel flimsy. I like to know I'm wearing clothes and I like for them to feel like quality material. On me, these shorts hang low where I like them, but I'm 5'3" weigh 115 lbs and I bought a 32. I immediately cut off the straps that hang down below the bottom of the leg cuff because I find them annoying. One of the straps in the back has come un-stitched from the pants. It's not a big deal, but it's probably the biggest complaint I can find. The next time I need shorts or I see these go on sale, I'll be buying more of these.Bought two pairs... same sizes, style, but two different colors. The Navy pair fit perfectly everywhere except the crotch. Very tight. The khaki pair was a bit longer past the knee and fit tightly at the crotch and waist. Sizing could be hit or miss, so you may have to spend $8 to get them corrected, like I did. No biggie though. These shorts are heavier than I thought they would be and the material seems to be very durable. People ask where I bought them from. I'd give 5 stars if the sizing was absolute.I didn't go a size larger/smaller in hopes for a perfect fit. I went with the size I normally wear.One hit, one miss, but the miss can be corrected.I'm a fairly big guy with large thighs and derriere (from cycling and weights). I ordered the size I normally purchase (38) because most of the reviews here say the shorts fit as expected (despite what the last reviewer says, but everyone is made differently). When I saw the shorts I was impressed with the style and weight (not as light as ripstop, but very light for cotton), so, I crossed my fingers and held my breath. Up they went, over the muscle (and who am I kidding, a little fat too), and on. Perfect. Fit like they were made for me, wife gave high marks. So, in my case, these folks also get high marks. I'll be back.I'll give an update if I have any washing/wearing problems.While others have said this runs a bit small I found that to be just the opposite. I was expecting a tight fit with the hope it would be better when I lose a few pounds. Guess I can stop my diet and exercise since if I lose too much these will be sloppy loose. I bought these in a size 36 and in most slacks and shorts that's just about perfect. They seem very well made and durable enough to last several summers.Shorts arrived quickly. They fit very well, as I read in the reviews it did hug the buttocks and made it appear firm, wasnt expecting that to be so true. There are some frilly unnecessary strings and buttons, but the hook hanging from the right pocket can hold your keys very convienently. Some thread is hanging out and had to get cleaned up, but for what you're paying for these shorts arn't too bad.Quality look / feel. These draw strings are extraordinarily long, and somewhat goofy, but I can easily fix that. Fit is a bit on the trim side - certainly not loose but maybe good for thin frame shaped booties. Maybe cut more for Asians than corn fed Americans. I'm not unhappy - they'll work for me.Nice fit, looks great, good quality material - but the buttons are not sewn on well and keep dropping off.Still for the price it's almost worth seeing them back on!great looking shorts, got rid of the tassels though, they looked a bit gay for my age of 51Great quality, perfect length, waist a little loose but OK with beltPretty well made. Bright colour! (Although this does fade quite dramatically after the first couple of washes). Lots of useful pockets make them a good mix between slim chino fit and utility function. I bought 2 more pairs in different colors!Better then I expected. Thanks
